KVKK Member Explicit Consent Statement
Member explicit consent statement on the processing of personal data under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).
The explicit consent you give here covers all your activities on ThankFor; your first and last name, phone number, email, city and geographic information; the processing of this data; and its sharing with solution partners.
Members are personally responsible for any conduct that is unlawful or harmful to a person or persons in the thank-you messages they write, the comments they post and the interactions they engage in. If such conduct is detected, the member may be asked to correct or delete the message or activity in question, or it may be deleted without notifying them.
You can find detailed information about which of your personal data we process and for what purposes in the Member Privacy Notice. When creating an “individual membership,” the names, trade names or similar designations of official institutions or commercial companies/brands may not be used or imitated. Commercial companies have priority in obtaining usernames with their official trade name, tax number or MERSIS number. If individual members have created a membership by taking the name or trade name of a brand as their username before the brand/institution did, the individual members’ usernames will be either changed or canceled if the company/brand applies. By means of the explicit consent statement, this matter is deemed to have been accepted in advance.
Which of your personal data do we process?
Your data that we may process, if you share it with us or if it becomes necessary, is as follows:
- Members’ email addresses
- Members’ first and last names
- Phone number
- Geographic position and location information
- Your activities on the ThankFor platform
Brands/institutions may want to contact members for purposes such as your activities on ThankFor or the GOLDEN IDEA CONTESTS organized by companies. For this reason, first and last names, phone numbers, email addresses and other contact information may be shared with organization members who want to contact members.
Purposes of processing your personal data
By ticking the checkbox “I consent to my data being processed for the purposes set out in the Explicit Consent Statement,” you give us your explicit consent to process, for the purposes below, both your personal data in the relevant tab and any other personal data not mentioned in this statement that you choose to share with us:
- Entering your information correctly is important for your own benefit. Direct or indirect benefits relating to you personally may arise from activities on the platform. To be able to exercise this right, your first name, last name and other information must be accurate; otherwise, your use of benefits arising in your favor may be restricted or canceled.
- It may be shared with legal departments where necessary so that we can exercise our right of defense.
- Members’ email addresses: Entering an email address is mandatory when creating a membership. Our primary aim is to make the membership process secure.
- Brands/companies may want to contact you because of your activities on ThankFor.
- We may contact you about changes and new features on the platform and for other information purposes.
- Your email address may be needed to protect your account and when you want to make changes to your profile.
- Brands/companies may contact you regarding the GOLDEN IDEA CONTESTS that companies launch on ThankFor.
- Individual members’ first and last names: The ThankFor team or brands/companies may want to contact you because of your activities on ThankFor; your first and last name are needed for proper communication.
- Phone number: A phone number is needed for fast and reliable communication and account verification.
- Country name, address: We may have information specifically for the country you are in. Geolocation information may be needed to group and evaluate members’ requests, preferences and tendencies regarding the platform and brands, as well as their interaction activities.
- Organization members: Since a mutual commercial relationship may arise between ThankFor and brands/institutions, and in order to create a secure membership, the brand name, brand owner, company name, tax office, tax number, phone number and official email address are essential.
- Mutual legal correspondence may be necessary.
- This information may be needed for accounting, financial transactions, analyses, reporting, and creating customer profiles and customer categories.
- Your personal data will be retained for the maximum period specified in the relevant legislation or required for the purpose for which it is processed, and in any case for the statutory limitation periods.
